Grove City falls to Allegheny
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Allegheny on Tuesday evening at the Walters-Zbell Tennis Courts.
The Gators (10-4) earned wins in all three doubles matches before sweeping the six singles flights. Junior Leah Thomsen (Cary, N.C./Cary Christian) nearly prevented the sweep at fifth singles, taking the first set from Michaela Thompson 6-2 and forcing a second-set tiebreaker before falling in the decisive third set.
The Wolverines (9-6) have concluded their regular season. Grove City will return to action in May in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament, with opponent and location to be determined.
