Grove City 9, Clarion 0


September 14, 1998--The Grove City women's tennis team extended its winning streak to six Monday, blanking visiting Clarion, 9-0.  The win marked the Lady Wolverines fifth 9-0 victory of the season and fourth win over an NCAA Division II opponent.

Freshman Alyssa Bradford (Akron, OH/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) won at first singles by forfeit (6-0, 6-0), sophomore Wendy Carlson (Hanover, PA/Southwestern) eased to victory at #2 (6-1, 6-0), junior Victoria Hull (Somis, CA/La Reina) coasted at #3 (6-1, 6-0), junior Krissy Bedillion (Hickory, PA/Fort Cherry) shutout her opponent at #4 (6-0, 6-0), junior Kelly Bailey was victorious at #5 (6-2, 6-0), and sophomore Lisa Evans (Butler, PA/Butler) won by forfeit at #6 (6-0, 6-0).

In doubles, Bradford and Hull won at #1 (8-6), Carlson and Bedillion took #2 (8-1), and Bailey and junior Kara Jo Hoisington (Dimondale, MI/Waverly) were forfeited #3 (8-0).

The Lady Wolverines play at Bethany Tuesday, September 15, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
