Grove City 8, Bethany 1


September 15, 1998--The Lady Wolverine tennis team won its seventh straight match Tuesday, defeating host Bethany, 8-1, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference duel.

Grove City won all six singles matches with freshman Alyssa Bradford (Akron, OH/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) at #1 (6-2, 6-0), sophomore Wendy Carlson (Hanover, PA/Southwestern) at #2 (6-0, 6-0), junior Victoria Hull (Somis, CA/La Reina) at #3 (6-0, 6-0), junior Krissy Bedillion (Hickory, PA/Fort Cherry) at #4 (6-0, 6-1), junior Kelly Bailey at #5 (6-0, 6-1), and sophomore Lisa Evans (Butler, PA/Butler) at #6 (6-0, 6-2).

In doubles, Bradford and Hull won at #1 (8-2), while Carlson and Bedillion chalked up a victory at #2 (8-4).  Bailey and junior Kara Jo Hoisington (Dimondale, MI/Waverly) dropped third doubles in a tiebreaker, 9-8 (7-3).

The Lady Wolverines play at Wooster Saturday, September 19, beginning at noon.
