Grove City 6, Wooster 3


September 19, 1998--The Grove City College women's tennis team posted its eighth straight win Saturday, defeating the College of Wooster, 6-3, in Wooster, OH.  The Lady Wolverines improved to 8-1 overall.

Grove City won the top five singles matches with sophomore Wendy Carlson (Hanover, PA/Southwestern) capturing the victory at #1 by a 6-3, 6-3 final.   Junior Victoria Hull (Somis, CA/La Reina) won at #2 (6-1, 6-2), junior Krissy Bedillion (Hickory, PA/Fort Cherry) at #3 (6-0, 6-2), junior Kelly Bailey at #4 (6-3, 6-1), and sophomore Lisa Evans (Butler, PA/Butler) at #5 (6-4, 7-6 (7-2)).  Junior Kara Jo Hoisington (Dimondale, MI/Waverly) fell at #6 (6-0, 6-0).

Carlson and Bedillion dropped their first doubles match (8-5).  Hull and Evans won at #2 (8-4), while Bailey and Hoisington lost at #3 (8-6).

The Lady Wolverines play at Chatham on Monday, September 21, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
