Lewis leads Lady Wolverines at Mount Union

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Junior Sally Lewis (Rochester, Pa./Freedom) captured top honors in the triple jump Saturday at the Mount Union Invitational, one of several highlights for the Grove City College women's track and field team on the afternoon.

Lewis won the triple jump with a leap of 37 feet, 3 1/4 inches and also took second in the long jump with a mark of 17-9 1/2. Freshman Elisa Pedersen (Santa Rosa, Calif./Montgomery) took second in the steeplechase with a time of 12 minutes, 8.8 seconds while sophomore teammate Theresa Miller (Landisville, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) finished third in 12:32.1.

Sophomore Christine Rummel (Cabot, Pa./Knoch) placed third in the triple jump (35-8 1/2) and fifth in both the long jump (16-11) and 400 hurdles (70.27 seconds). She also grabbed sixth in the 100 high hurdles with a time of 16.50 seconds. 

Freshman Michelle Borza (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) took seventh in the pole vault, clearing 9 feet. She also took ninth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:12.94.
