Wolverine women compete at SRU Open

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's track and field team competed in the Slippery Rock University Open Saturday at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.

Four Grove City athletes recorded top-10 finishes at the Open, which featured numerous NCAA Division I and II institutions. Sophomore Julia Seward (Elizabethton, Tenn./Science Hill) placed second in the 5000, crossing in a time of 18 minutes, 50.04 seconds. Junior Mary Majchrowicz (Sunnyvale, Calif./The King's Academy) claimed sixth in the 400 with a mark of 58.52 seconds.

Sophomore Callie Martin (Apollo, Pa./Kiski Area) placed sixth in the 10,000 (44:00.69), one spot ahead of sophomore teammate Anna Butler (West Palm Beach, Fla./Westminster Academy).

Grove City will compete in the Westminster Invitational next Saturday, April 21.
