Carter, Osterhouse win PAC titles

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Senior Kristen Carter (Bellingham, Wash./Bellingham) and freshman Morgan Osterhouse (Westminster, Md./Francis Scott Key) both earned individual titles for the Grove City College women's track and field team Saturday afternoon at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Westminster College. Grove City placed sixth in the team standings with 42 points. Westminster won the team title with 143.

Carter won the 1500 with a time of 4 minutes, 49.40 seconds while Osterhouse broke her own school record in the 3000 steeplechase with a victorious time of 11:54.49.

Sophomore Kate Balmer (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) took third in the 100 dash (12.73) while senior Megan Fellows (Erie, Pa./Iroquois) placed third in the discus with a throw of 35.55 meters. Sophomore Brigitte Fryan (Massillon, Ohio/Jackson) finished fourth in the 5000 (20:42.00) while freshman Emily Pietrucha (Bennington, Va./Mount Anthony Union) earned fourth in the 1500 with a time of 5:01.33. Pietrucha also took fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:25.65.

Osterhouse earned 10 1/4 points for Grove City while Carter finished with 10 individual points.
