Wolverines compete at The Rock

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Junior Kate McRoberts (Akron, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) and freshman Ella Smith (Becker, Minn./Becker) both earned wins Saturday to help lead the Grove City College women's track and field team at the Slippery Rock University Invitational at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.

McRoberts won the 3000-meter run with a time of 10 minutes, 59.84 seconds. Meanwhile, Smith won the 5000 in 18:19.55.

Junior Kate Balmer (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) took second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.54 seconds, which is .03 seconds off her school record time. She also placed fifth in the 200 (27.04).

Junior Emily Pierce (Lisbon, N.Y./Lisbon Central) earned third in the 5000 (19:11.57). McRoberts added a fifth-place finish in the 400 (1:05.29).

Grove City will compete in the Presidents' Athletic Conference North Quad Wednesday at Westminster.
