Wolverines compete at Ed Fry Invitational

INDIANA, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's track and field team competed in the Ed Fry Invitational Saturday at Indiana University of Pennsylvania's Memorial Stadium.

Freshman Ella Smith (Becker, Minn./Becker) led Grove City's effort by earning second in the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 12 minutes, 1 second. Junior Kate Balmer (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) earned third in the 200-meter dash (26.48) while junior Emily Pierce (Lisbon, N.Y./Lisbon Central) placed fourth in the 1500 (4:57.24).

Junior Kate McRoberts (Akron, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) took sixth in the 3000-meter run with a time of 11:01.08.

Grove City returns to action May 1 when the Wolverines host the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships at Robert E. Thorn Field.
