Grove City wins Quad

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's track and field team won the Presidents' Athletic Conference North Quad Tuesday night at Geneva College. Grove City finished the meet with 290 team points. Geneva took second with 138 points, followed by Thiel (77) and Westminster (12).

Three Grove City performers recorded multiple victories in the meet. Freshman Katelyn Hess (Medina, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) swept the jumps to pace the Wolverines in the field. She won the high jump by clearing 4 feet, 10 1/4 inches. Hess also marked at 15-6 3/4 in the long jump and 32-10 1/2 in the triple jump, also emerging victorious in those events.

Sophomore Eliza Lowe (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) swept the hurdles. She won the 100 hurdles in 15.21 seconds and then captured the 400 hurdles with a winning time of 1:07.30.

Freshman Kate Hussey (Port Murray, N.J./Warren Hills) won both the 100 (13.09) and 200 (26.86) dashes while sophomore Allison Blain (Danbury, Conn./Danbury) took the 400 meters in 1:02.73. Sophomore Emily Rabenold (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) won the 1500 with a time of 5:00.01.

Grove City returns to action April 25-26 at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships in New Wilmington, Pa.
