Lowe, Rabenold compete in NCAA Championships

DELAWARE, Ohio -- Grove City College women's track and field performers Eliza Lowe (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) and Emily Rabenold (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) each competed in the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University Thursday and Friday.

Lowe, a sophomore, placed 21st in the 100-meter high hurdles with a time of 14.74 seconds in the preliminaries Friday evening. Rabenold, also a sophomore, took 15th in the preliminaries of the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 11 minutes, 3.21 seconds.

Lowe qualified for the NCAA Championships by posting a school-record time of 14.35 seconds in the preliminaries of the 100 hurdles at last week's Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships in Troy, N.Y. Rabenold also posted her NCAA qualifying time at the ECAC meet as she earned second place in 10:51.03. She broke her own school record in the steeplechase that day.

Rabenold also qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in cross country last fall. Rabenold took 179th out of 280 runners at the national meet November 23 in Hanover, Ind.
