Wolverine women 13th at Westminster Invite

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's track and field team finished 13th out of 25 teams at the Westminster College Invitational at Memorial Field on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

Four Wolverines posted top-six finishes to score Grove City's 16 points. Junior Lydia Keiper (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) got the Wolverines on the board with a fourth-place finish in the 5000 in a career-best time of 18:49.32 while sophomore Margi Haiss (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) posted a career-best mark of 36.68 meters in the discus to also finish fourth. Senior Allison Blain (Danbury, Conn./Danbury) knocked more than a second off her career-best time in the 400 to finish sixth in 59.80 seconds while freshman Erin McGann (Suffield, Conn./Suffield) posted a mark of 31.77 meters to finish sixth in the javelin in her first time competing the event.

Junior Liv Green (Forestville, Pa./Slippery Rock) posted a 10th-place showing in the 1500 in 5:03.90 while sophomore Brooke Beatty (Cortland, Ohio/Lakeview) was 10th in the shot put with a best heave of 10.60 meters. Freshman Elizabeth Donahoe (Export, Pa./Franklin Regional) posted the best time of the season in the Presidents' Athletic Conference in the 800 to finish 11th in 2:25.40, edging the host Titans' Raechel Pusateri by .01 seconds, while junior Melanie Packard (Londonderry, N.H./Londonderry) was 11th in the pole vault after clearing 3.25 meters.

Grove City returns to action on Thursday when they complete at the PAC North Quad as part of the Slippery Rock University Open at 1:30 p.m.
