Wolverines compete at Jim Wuske Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Grove City College women's track and field program returned to action for its first meet in 2015 on Saturday afternoon at Mount Union's Jim Wuske Invitational at Peterson Fieldhouse.

Sophomore Katelyn Hess (Medina, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) led the Wolverines with a fifth-place finish in the triple jump, bounding 10.01 meters on her first jump of the evening. Hess also finished 10th in the long jump with a best mark of 4.62 meters.

Sophomore Lydia Keiper (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) placed ninth in the 3000 with a time of 11:28.42 while senior Kara Cremean (Vermillion, Ohio/Vermillion) added a 10th-place finish in the 1000 in 3:34.61.

Grove City's 4000m distance medley relay of junior Mara Thompson (Goodlettsville, Tenn./Merrol Hyde), junior Adrienne Scrima (Westtown, N.Y./Minisink Valley), Keiper and Cremean finished fourth in 14:32.82.

Freshmen Brooke Beatty and Margi Haiss (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) led the Wolverine throwing corps, finishing 15th (9.71m) and 16th (9.65m), respectively, in the shot put.

The Wolverines return to action next weekend when they compete in the Baldwin-Wallace Mid-February Meet on Friday evening.
