GCC hosts five-school invite GROVE CITY, PA, April 1, 2000--The Lady Wolverine water polo team played its first home matches Friday and Saturday as Grove City hosted a five-school invitational at the College Pool. The Lady Wolverines fell to each of the four visiting schools, losing to Washington & Jefferson, 17-8, Slippery Rock, 15-5, Salem-Teikyo, 9-1, and Gannon, 14-4. Sarah Erdos (Broomall, PA/Marple Newtown) highlighted Friday's loss to W&J with a four-goal effort. Abby Sakowski (Cleveland Hts., OH/Cleveland Hts.) netted the hat trick in the Slippery Rock defeat. Grove City dropped to 0-15 in its inaugural season. |
