Rock piles on 13 goals in win over GCC

SLIPPERY ROCK, PA, March 28, 2001--The Grove City College women's water polo team (3-10) trailed 7-1 at halftime and never recovered in a 13-6 loss at rival Slippery Rock University (11-8-1) Wednesday night.

Junior Adrienne Hill (Portville, NY, Portville Central) posted her eighth multiple-goal game of the season, scoring twice, while senior Brie Anne Thomas (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster), junior Sarah Erdos (Broomall, PA/Marple Newtown), freshman Jessica Zedaker (Houston, TX/Cypress Creek) and freshman Tammy Hamsher contributed a goal each.

Junior Katherine Exo (Bloomfield Hills, MI/Holland) started in goal and made 11 saves on 18 first-half shots.  Freshman net-minder Julie Zedaker (Houston, TX/Cypress Creek) played the final two quarters, stopping six of 12 shots. 

Grove City will host a nine-school invitational Friday and Saturday, March 30-31.  Visiting schools include Bucknell, Iona (NY), Penn State Behrend, Queens (NY), St. Francis (NY), Salem International (WV), Slippery Rock and Washington & Jefferson.
