Rock downs GCC, 15-4

GROVE CITY, PA, April 4, 2002— The Grove City College women's water polo team dropped a friendly match against Division II Slippery Rock University by a score of 15-4 Thursday.
Grove
City was led by sophomore Katie Flaherty (Suffield, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) who
scored two goals. Other Wolverine
goals were scored by senior captain Adrienne Hill (Portville, NY/Portville
Central) and Tammy Hamsher (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley).
The leading scorer for SRU was Karolyn Kieter with 5 goals.
Defensively, sophomore goalie Julie Zedaker
(Houston, TX/Cypress Creek) had a strong showing with 16 saves on 31 shots.
Julie also contributed two steals and one assist.
Grove City, now 1-7 overall, will next play
this weekend at Indiana, PA in an Allegheny Regional round-robin format.
The Wolverines return home next weekend for the 10-team Grove City Invitational.
