GROVE CITY, PA, April 13, 2002—Lady Wolverine sophomore Jessica Zedaker (Houston, TX/Cypress Creek) followed last night's five-goal performance against Mercyhurst College with four tallies in a 7-5 victory over Penn State Behrend College on Day Two of the Grove City College Women's Water Polo Invitational.

Grove City dropped its next two games, however, losing to Washington & Jefferson College in overtime, 9-8, and Gannon University, 13-6. After a 2-2 showing at the seven-school invitational, the Lady Wolverines' record moved to 4-12 overall.

In Saturday's opener, the Lady Wolverines trailed Penn State Behrend, 3-2, when Jessica Zedaker stepped up with three unanswered goals to give GCC the lead for good.  Jessica added five steals, while her twin sister, sophomore goaltender Julie Zedaker (Houston, TX/Cypress Creek), secured the victory with 15 saves on 20 shots.  Sophomore Tammy Hamsher (Carlisle, PA/Cumberland Valley) scored twice and senior Adrienne Hill (Portville, NY/Portville Central) had one goal.

Grove City appeared headed for its first three-game winning streak in the program's three-year history, holding a 7-3 lead against Washington & Jefferson after three quarters, but the Presidents outscored the Lady Wolverines 4-0 in the fourth period before winning in overtime, 9-8.  Hill paced Grove City with three goals, while Hamsher and sophomore Katie Flaherty (Suffield, OH/St. Thomas Aquinas) tossed in two each.  Freshman Lindsay Smith (Charlotte, NC/Charlotte Christian) contributed one goal.  Jessica Zedaker recorded three steals, while Julie Zedaker turned back 16 of 25 shots and added two steals.

In the nightcap, Gannon rallied from a 7-5 halftime deficit with six unanswered goals over the final two periods.  Hamsher, Jessica Zedaker and Flaherty each rifled in two goals for GCC.  Jessica was also credited with four steals, while Flaherty and Julie Zedaker had two steals apiece.  Julie stopped 24 of 37 shots on goal.
