Gannon nips Grove City, 7-6

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Grove City College women's water polo team fell to 9-15 overall Sunday afternoon with a 7-6 loss to Gannon at the Collegiate Water Polo Association Western Division Championships.

Junior Caitlin Ewing (Grafton, Wis./Grafton) fired in a pair of goals for Grove City while senior Lauren Schade (McDonald, Pa./West Allegheny), senior Cecelia Larsen (Federal Way, Wash./Tacoma Baptist), junior Virginia Larsen (Federal Way, Wash./Tacoma Baptist) and freshman Kristen Kerchner (West Lake Village, Calif./West Lake) all scored once.

Kerchner assisted on two goals while Ewing, freshman Liza McRuer (Irvine, Calif./University), Virginia Larsen and freshman C.J. Foldberg (Atascadero, Calif./Atascadero) all recorded one assist.

In goal, sophomore Keala Walter (Newberg, Ore./Newberg) stopped 19 of 26 shots.

Grove City is currently awaiting a potential invitation to the Collegiate III National Championships May 5-6.
