Michigan tops Grove City, 14-3

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Host Michigan handed visiting Grove City (5-11) a 14-3 setback Friday night in the opening match of the University of Michigan's Wolverine Invitational.

Senior Caitlin Ewing (Grafton, Wis./Grafton), sophomore Liza McRuer (Irvine, Calif./University) and freshman Amanda Thompson (Erie, Pa./McDowell) all scored once for Grove City. In goal, freshman Kate Stiebler (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) stopped 11 shots while junior Keala Walter (Keaau, Hawaii/Newberg, Ore.) posted six saves.

Grove City will face Michigan State in an exhibition match Saturday at 7:40 a.m. Grove City will face Mercyhurst at 3:50 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
