Gannon tops Grove City

ERIE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's water polo team dropped to 6-9 overall Wednesday afternoon with a 12-9 setback at Division II foe Gannon in Collegiate Water Polo Association action.

Four Grove City players scored goals against Gannon, including a five-goal effort from sophomore Chelsea Johnson (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington). Senior Kate Stiebler (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) scored twice while juniors Lauren Baur (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) and Brittany LaPalme (Hollywood, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) each scored once.

Johnson and LaPalme each recorded one assist. Defensively, Stiebler posted a team-high three steals.

In goal, freshman Amanda Johnston (San Luis Obispo, Calif./San Luis Obispo) stopped 11 shots.

Grove City will visit Penn State Behrend Tuesday, March 30 at 7 p.m.
