Gannon edges Grove City

ERIE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's water polo team dropped a hard-fought 8-7 decision at Gannon Tuesday night in non-conference action. Grove City (7-9) led 4-3 at the half but Gannon rallied for the victory.

Five different Grove City players scored. Junior Chelsea Johnson (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) fired in three goals for the Wolverines. Junior Amanda Brush (Charlton, N.Y./Schenectady Christian), senior Brittany LaPalme (Hollywood, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas), junior Andrea Wilson (Newberg, Ore./Veritas) and senior Allison White (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield) all scored once.

Johnson, Wilson and senior Lauren Baur (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) all had one assist each. Wilson and Johnson both had four steals each.

In goal, sophomore Amanda Johnston (San Luis Obispo, Calif./San Luis Obispo) stopped six shots for Grove City.

The Wolverines will host Notre Dame (Ohio) Friday, April 1 at 7 p.m.
