Grove City drops pair

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- The Grove City College women's water polo team dropped a pair of matches Friday in California Lutheran University's Posada Royale Invitational. Grove City (1-3) opened the day with a 9-4 setback against Fresno Pacific. Host Cal Lutheran blanked Grove City in the nightcap, 13-0.

Senior Andrea Wilson (Newberg, Ore./Veritas) fired in three goals against Fresno Pacific and senior Chelsea Johnson (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) also scored. Freshman Jocelyn Hinkle (Freeland, Pa./Hazleton) assisted on two of the Wolverine goals.

Wilson and sophomore Kristi Baur (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) both had three steals. In goal, junior Amanda Johnston (San Luis Obispo, Calif./San Luis Obispo) stopped six shots.

Johnston and freshman Lauren Hulsebus (Belmont, Mich./Rockford) each tallied four steals against Cal Lutheran. Johnston stopped five shots.

The Wolverines will face Chapman Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Eastern before squaring off with Occidental at 5:30.
