Grove City rolls past Cal Tech

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- The Grove City College women's water polo team concluded its six-game trip to California with an 11-5 victory over Cal Tech Sunday at California Lutheran University's Posada Royale Invitational.

Three Wolverines posted multi-goal efforts in the win. Senior Chelsea Johnson (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) pumped in four goals while sophomore Kristi Baur (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) and freshman Lauren Hulsebus (Belmont, Mich./Rockford) each scored three times. Freshman Jocelyn Hinkle (Freeland, Pa./Hazleton) added a goal.

Senior Andrea Wilson (Newberg, Ore./Veritas) assisted on three goals while junior goalie Amanda Johnston (San Luis Obispo, Calif./San Luis Obispo) assisted two goals. Baur, Hulsebus and sophomore Abby Wells (Ashland, Ohio/Ashland) each had one assist.

Johnson paced the defense with four steals. Johnston stopped 10 shots.

Grove City (2-5) returns to action Wednesday night at Gannon. The match begins at 7 p.m.
