Grove City falls at Gannon

ERIE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's water polo team dropped a 15-9 decision at Gannon Monday night in non-conference action at the Hammermill Center.

Sophomore Lauren Hulsebus (Belmont, Mich./Rockford) paced the Wolverines (11-8) with five goals while classmate Jocelyn Hinkle (Freeland, Pa./Hazleton) added three goals. Freshman Ashley Parks (Westerville, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) fired in a goal and also recorded one assist. Hinkle led Grove City with three assists while junior Kristi Baur (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) also had an assist.

Defensively, Baur recorded a team-leading five steals. Senior Amanda Johnston (San Luis Obispo, Calif./San Luis Obispo) stopped 10 shots in goal.

Grove City returns to action Friday and Saturday at the Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III Championships in New London, Conn. The Wolverines are the top seed in the seven-team tournament.
