Grove City tops Monmouth

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's water polo team improved to 7-4 in the Collegiate Water Polo Association's Division III conference Sunday afternoon by earning an 8-2 win over Monmouth (Ill.) at Washington & Jefferson College's Henry Memorial Center.

Three Grove City players recorded multi-goal performances Sunday. Freshman Abby Jank (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) pumped in three goals while freshman Grace Klimek (Oakdale, Pa./South Fayette) and junior Jocelyn Hinkle (Freeland, Pa./Hazleton) each scored twice.

Sophomore Ashley Henderson (Lansing, Mich./Lansing Christian) added one goal and assisted two other scores. Hinkle also had two assists. Sophomores Kira Okray (Bloomfield, Mich./Detroit Country Day) and Ashley Parks (Westerville, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) both had one assist.

Hinkle and Jank each had five steals for the Wolverines (8-8 overall) while Okray collected four steals. In goal, freshman Mary Frank (Centreville, Md./Queen Anne's County) stopped nine shots.

Grove City will host CWPA Division III rival Washington & Jefferson Saturday at 11 a.m.
