Grove City tops Monmouth

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Grove City College women's water polo team closed its Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III regular season schedule Sunday afternoon by earning a 14-4 victory over Monmouth (Ill.) at Connecticut College.

Nine Grove City players scored in the win, with four players scoring multiple goals. Senior Jocelyn Hinkle (Freeland, Pa./Hazleton) scored three times while junior Ashley Henderson (Lansing, Mich./Lansing Christian), sophomore Abby Jank (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) and sophomore Grace Klimek (Oakdale, Pa./South Fayette) all scored two goals each.

Freshman Brynna Bartlett (Olive Branch, Miss./St. George's), freshman Maggie Blume (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection), sophomore Mary Frank (Centreville, Md./Queen Anne's County), junior Kira Okray (Bloomfield, Mich./Detroit Country Day) and junior Ashley Parks (Westerville, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) all scored once.

Jank assisted on four goals while Henderson and Okray both had two assists. Bartlett, Blume, freshman Carolyn Ebel (East McKeesport, Pa./Central Catholic) and Hinkle each tallied one assist. 

Bartlett led the defense with four steals while Henderson and Jank each tallied three thefts. Frank and Hinkle split time in goal. Hinkle stopped six shots and Frank had four saves.

Grove City (6-9, 6-8 CWPA Division III) will host the conference championships April 10-11 in the James E. Longnecker Pool.
