Five earn ACWPC academic honors

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Five Grove City College women's water polo players earned Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic recognition Tuesday afternoon in recognition of their classroom performance this season.

Junior Abby Jank (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) and freshman Sonni Kiefer (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) both earned "Outstanding" distinction from the ACWPC while "Superior" honors went to recent graduate Ashley Parks (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) and freshman Heidi Schmidt (Pittsburgh, Pa./Trinity Christian). Junior Grace Klimek (Oakdale, Pa./South Fayette) captured "Excellent" status.

Student-athletes who earn a grade-point average of 3.71 or higher merit ACWPC All-Academic "Outstanding" distinction. "Superior" performers achieved a GPA between 3.41 and 3.70. "Excellent" distinction is awarded to those with a GPA between 3.20 and 3.40.
