Grove City falls twice in California

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- The Grove City College women's water polo team dropped a pair of matches Friday at California Lutheran University. Grove City opened the day with a 14-3 setback against NAIA foe Azusa Pacific. The Wolverines then fell to host Cal Lutheran, 16-2.

Senior Ashley Parks (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) scored twice against Azusa Pacific while sophomore Maggie Blume (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) added a goal.

In goal, junior Mary Frank (Centreville, Md./Queen Anne's County) stopped six shots for Grove City.

Parks scored both of Grove City's goals in the nightcap against Cal Lutheran. Blume added an assist. Frank recorded three saves while freshman Sonni Kiefer (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) added one save and two steals.

Grove City will open its home schedule March 3 at 7 p.m. against visiting Gannon.
