Lady Wolverines take third at Wooster 

WOOSTER, OH, September 22, 2001--Freshman Jana Sallade (Wyomissing, PA/Wyomissing) placed seventh in a field of 108 runners to lead the Grove City College women's cross country team to a third-place finish at the 12-school College of Wooster Invitational, held Saturday at the L.C. Bolles Golf Course in Wooster, OH.

Sallade covered the tough, hilly 3.1-mile course in 20:10 to pace the Lady Wolverines, who finished with 95 points.  Allegheny College won the meet with 47 points and Indiana University of Pennsylvania took second with 70 points.  Grove City placed ahead of fourth-place Denison University (126), fifth-place Ashland University (129), sixth-place Muskingum College (133), seventh-place Wooster (137) and eighth-place Case Western Reserve University (145).  Lake Erie College, Hiram College, Notre Dame College and Cuyahoga Community College participated but did not post a team score.

Three Lady Wolverine seniors helped Saturday's cause with Top 25 finishes.  Charity Pefferman (New Martinsville, WV/Magnolia) and Jessica Davenport (State College, PA/State College) crossed in 19th and 20th, respectively, with times of 20:35 and 20:38, while Laura Pratt (Solon, OH/Solon) took 22nd place in 20:43.   Junior Morgan Kiper (Hamilton, OH/Talawanda) also scored with a time of 21:10 -- good for 32nd overall.
