GCC women place sixth at Lehigh

MEET RESULTS

BETHLEHEM, PA, October 6, 2001--The Lady Wolverine cross country team placed sixth among 19 of the top Division III schools in the region at the 28th Lehigh University Paul Short Run, which featured 62 schools representing all three NCAA divisions.  Grove City, who placed behind Haverford (champion), Messiah, Cortland, Gettysburg and Western Maryland, will return to the course for the Mid East Regionals on Nov. 10.

Freshman Jana Sallade (Wyomissing, PA/Wyomissing) paced the Lady Wolverines on the 6K course with a time of 23:53.46, good for 23rd in the Division III field.  Senior Laura Pratt (Solon, OH/Solon) finished 26th overall in 23:59.71.  Also scoring for GCC were senior Charity Pefferman (New Martinsville, WV/Magnolia), who placed 37th in 24:20.15, junior Morgan Kiper (Hamilton, OH/Talawanda), who crossed in 48th place in 25:00.02, and senior Jessica Davenport (State College, PA/State College), who was 62nd overall in 25:28.63.  Freshman Katherine Muse (Ephrata, PA/Ephrata) finished 67th overall with a time of 25:47.46, while senior Melanie McCoy (Reynoldsburg, OH/Reynoldsburg) was 75th in 26:02.47.
