GCC women place four in top 20 at Carnegie Mellon

PITTSBURGH -- Freshman Elisa Pedersen (Santa Rosa, Calif./Montgomery) finished second out of 116 runners to help the Grove City College women's cross country team finish third at the 12-team Carnegie Mellon Invitational Saturday at Schenley Park. The Lady Wolverines finished with 81 points, placing behind Allegheny (29) and host CMU (69).

Pedersen completed the course in 18:47 and was one of four Lady Wolverines in the top 20. Sophomore Janna Sallade (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) finished 12th in 19:21 while Theresa Miller (Landisville, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) took 18th in a personal-best time of 19:49. 

Katherine Muse (Akron, Pa./Ephrata) finished 20th in 19:54 and Deb Bruno (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) took 36th in 21:08.
