Wolverines compete in PSU Spiked Shoe Invitational

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's cross country team finished 22nd out of 25 teams at the Penn State University Spiked Shoe Invitational Saturday. Grove City recorded 584 team points. Syracuse won the meet, which featured 10 NCAA Division I programs and seven NCAA Division II programs. The Orange accumulated 64 team points.

Freshman Candice Coholich (Gibsonia, Pa./Hampton) led Grove City with a 92nd-place finish. She completed the course in 24 minutes, 17.65 seconds. Sophomore Kristen Carter (Bellingham, Wash./Bellingham) placed 109th with a time of 24:52.30 while senior Cara Pierce (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Lisbon Central) crossed 122nd in 25:15.40.

Junior Amanda Hewitt (Greensburg, Pa./Latrobe) finished 125th in 25:20.65 while classmate Sarah Sharp (Mountaintop, Pa./Danville) finished 136th with a time of 25:43.60.

Grove City will compete in the Lehigh Invitational Friday afternoon.
