Grove City 16th at Lehigh Invite

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's cross country team placed 16th in the 27-team Open competition at Lehigh's Paul Short Invitational Friday afternoon. Grove City accumulated 381 team points. Haverford won with 107 total points.

Sophomore Kristen Carter (Bellingham, Wash./Bellingham) placed eighth in the 228-runner field with a time of 22 minutes, 35 seconds. Carter finished third among NCAA Division III competitors.

Freshman Candice Coholich (Gibsonia, Pa./Hampton) finished 81st in 24:48 while junior Amanda Hewitt (Greensburg, Pa./Latrobe) took 94th in 25:06. Junior Sarah Sharp (Mountaintop, Pa./Danville) placed 95th, also with a time of 25:06.

Grove City will return to action Oct. 14 at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational in Pittsburgh.
