Grove City women ranked 32nd nationally

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's cross country team is ranked 32nd nationally in this week's United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III National Poll. Grove City received 21 voter points in making its first appearance in the national poll this season.

Grove City moved into the poll after winning the team title at the Saint Vincent Invitational September 26. The Wolverines edged NCAA Division II foe California (Pa.) 51-52 to win the title. Grove City also won the team title at the California Invitational September 5.

Grove City is also ranked fourth in this week's USTFCCCA Mideast Region Poll. Johns Hopkins is first in the region, followed by Dickinson and Messiah. Johns Hopkins is tied for No. 1 nationally while Dickinson is 28th. Messiah is 33rd in the national poll.

This is Grove City's first appearance in the national poll since being voted 27th September 11, 2008.

Grove City will compete in the Pitt-Greensburg Invitational Saturday.
