Wolverines 13th at Lehigh

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's cross country team earned 13th place at Lehigh University's 41-team Paul Short Invitational Friday afternoon. Grove City accumulated a team score of 416 to finished fourth among Division III teams at the event. Rutgers won the team title with 118 points, followed by Princeton (161).

Sophomore Ella Smith (Becker, Minn./Becker) led the Grove City effort by finishing 45th in 22 minutes, 59 seconds. Sophomore Sara Fisher (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) earned 67th place in a time of 23:19 while senior Emily Pierce (Lisbon, N.Y./Lisbon Central) took 80th in 23:27.

Senior Kate McRoberts (Green, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) finished 82nd (27:32) while classmate Brigitte Fryan (Canton, Ohio/Massillon Jackson) placed 137th in 23:57. Junior Mary Rachel Robbins (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport) took 186th (24:25) and sophomore Mary Kate Breese (Mercer, Pa./Mercer) finished 214th in 24:40.

Millersville's Elicia Anderson won the race with a winning time of 21:03. A total of 281 runners competed in the race. Grove City finished ahead of 10 NCAA Division I schools in the meet.

The Wolverines return to action October 16 at Oberlin College's Inter-Regional Rumble.
