Grove City takes 4th at DeSales

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's cross country team placed fourth out of 41 teams Saturday at the DeSales University Invitational as the Wolverines posted a team score of 201 points. Dickinson won the event with 70 points, followed by Division II Kutztown in second with 98 points. Marywood (138) finished third.

Junior Ella Smith (Becker, Minn./Becker) paced Grove City by taking 25th overall with a time of 24 minutes, 47.53 seconds for six kilometers. Classmate Mary Kate Breese (Mercer, Pa./Mercer) finished 27th with a time of 24:50.00.

Sophomore Laurel Skorup (Sandwich, Ill./Sandwich) earned 38th in 25:13.02 while junior Mary Rachel Robbins (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport) took 56th (25:39.11). Junior Anna Dunsworth (Erie, Pa./Strong Vincent) took 68th in 25:51.57.

Junior Hillary Wilson (Solon, Ohio/Solon) finished 94th (26:11.57) and sophomore Cayla Clawson (York, Pa./Central York) took 100th in 26:17.06.

Dickinson's Catherine Campbell won the race in 22:51.25. A total of 424 runners competed.

Grove City returns to action next Saturday at Oberlin College's Inter-Regional Rumble.
