Grove City opens season at Lehigh
BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's cross country team opened the 2013 season Saturday by taking 10th place at the 13-team Lehigh Invitational. Grove City finished the meet with 269 team points. Lehigh won the team title with 34 points.
Sophomore Emily Rabenold (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) led Grove City by taking 53rd place overall with a time of 25 minutes, 33.21 seconds for six kilometers.
Junior Kara Cremean (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion) earned 62nd place with a time of 26:04.39 while classmate Caroline Kimpel (Columbiana, Ohio/Columbiana) placed 71st (26:22.77).
Freshman Lydia Keiper (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) earned 80th in 26:47.66 while sophomore Janice Novacek (Hopewell, Pa./Hopewell) finished 82nd with a time of 26:54.41. Freshman Kellen McGann (Suffield, Conn./Suffield) took 83rd (26:56.40) and sophomore Lydia Hogan (Lutherville, Md./Reedemer Classical Christian) placed 86th with a 27:07.72 performance.
Lafayette's Rose Willey won the individual title with a time of 22:45.67.
Grove City returns to action Friday, September 13 at the Penn State Invitational.
