Wolverines take 4th

GIBSONIA, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's cross country team captured fourth place at the 12-team Chatham Invitational Saturday, held at Chatham's Eden Campus. Grove City finished the meet with 94 team points. Waynesburg won the meet with 40 points, followed by Geneva (70) and Point Park (73).

Seven Grove City runners placed in the top 25. Sophomore Emily Rabenold (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) paced Grove City by taking 17th in a time of 27 minutes, 36.5 seconds. Sophomore Lydia Hogan (Lutherville, Md./Reedemer Classical Christian) finished 19th in 27:45.4, one place ahead of senior Laurel Skorup (Sandwich, Ill./Sandwich). Skorup finished 20th in 27:47.4.

Freshman Stevie Huston (Greensburg, Pa./Latrobe) earned 21st in 27:48.7 while senior Austin Powell (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) finished 22nd in a time of 27:50.8.

Junior Caroline Kimpel (Columbiana, Ohio/Columbiana) claimed 24th (27:59.9) and sophomore Janice Novacek (Hopewell, Pa./Hopewell) took 25th with a time of 28:09.7.

Saint Vincent's Genie Fratto won the race with a victorious time of 24:54.4.

The Wolverines return to action October 19 at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble.
