Grove City competes at Oberlin Rumble

OBERLIN, Ohio -- The Grove City College women's cross country team placed 19th out of 34 teams at Oberlin College's Inter-Regional Rumble Saturday as the Wolverines finished with 523 team points. National power New York University won the team title with 72 points, followed by Geneseo State with 118.

Sophomore Emily Rabenold (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) led Grove City by taking 18th place overall with a time of 22 minutes, 21.2 seconds for six kilometers.

Senior Laurel Skorup (Sandwich, Ill./Sandwich) placed 133rd overall in 24:10.5 while sophomore Lydia Hogan (Lutherville, Md./Reedemer Classical Christian) earned 136th with a time of 24:11.9. Junior Kara Cremean (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion) took 140th in 24:15.0.

Also for Grove City, sophomore Stevie Huston (Greensburg, Pa./Latrobe) earned 144th in a time of 24:17.9 and senior Austin Powell (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) took 146th in a time of 24:20.5. Junior Caroline Kimpel (Columbiana, Ohio/Columbiana) finished 163rd (24:44.8).

NYU's Emily Cousens won the individual race with 21:54.5. A total of 284 runners competed in the event.

Grove City returns to action November 2 for the 2013 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Chatham University in Gibsonia, Pa.
