Rabenold qualifies for national meet; Grove City 15th at NCAA Regional

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Sophomore Emily Rabenold (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) ran a 21:45 for the second race in a row to finish 10th individually in the 358-runner field and lead the Grove City College women's cross country team to a 15th-place finish in the 52-team NCAA Mideast Regional on Saturday afternoon at Lehigh University.

With her time -- the fifth fastest in Grove City history -- Rabenold also earned a slot in next Saturday's NCAA National Championships in Hanover, Ind., by virtue of finishing fifth among individuals who did not advance as part of a team automatic-berth.

Sophomore Lydia Hogan (Lutherville, Md./Reedemer Classical Christian) and senior Austin Powell (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) finished second and third (106th and 107th overall) for the Wolverines, both with identical times of 23:45.

Sophomore Stevie Huston (Greensburg, Pa./Greater Latrobe) was fourth on the squad and 122nd overall with a 24:02 while junior Kara Cremean (Vermillion, Ohio/Vermillion) was just behind her with a 24:05 to place 125th.

Senior Laurel Skorup (Sandwich, Ill./Sandwich) ran a 24:13 for 133rd place and junior Caroline Kimpel (Columbiana, Ohio/Columbiana) rounded out the Wolverines with a 24:33 to finish 144th.
