Rabenold takes title; Wolverines second at Bethany

BUFFALO, N.Y. --Junior Emily Rabenold (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) won her second individual title in as many races as the Grove City College women's cross country team finished second in the 14-team Bethany Invitational on Saturday morning.

The Wolverines had five runners finish in the top 20 to compile 60 points on the day, finishing just behind team champion and Presidents' Athletic Conference foe Waynesburg (42) and just ahead of Muskingum (85).

Rabenold completed the six-kilometer race in a winning time of 23 minutes, 11 seconds, finishing 18 seconds ahead of NCAA Division II Alderson Broaddus' Jenny Brewer to earn medalist honors in the 149-runner field.

Junior Stevie Huston (Greensburg, Pa./Latrobe) finished 11th in 24:46 while freshmen Martha Mihm (Stone Ridge, N.Y./Rondout Valley) and Mackenzie Klinvex (Wexford, Pa./Shady Side Academy) took 13th (25:04) and 16th (25:17), respectively.

Senior Kara Cremean (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion) rounded out the Wolverine top-five by finishing 19th overall in 25:28.

Grove City returns to action September 20 at the Dickinson College Long-Short Invitational at Big Spring High School in Newville.
