Grove City takes 5th at Saint Vincent

LATROBE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's cross country team placed fifth at the 18-team Saint Vincent Invitational Saturday morning, accumulating 172 team points. Pitt won the team title with 33 points, followed by Division II programs Seton Hill (36) and California (78). Waynesburg earned fourth with 115 points.

Senior Stevie Huston (Greensburg, Pa./Latrobe) led Grove City's effort by taking 33rd overall with a time of 20 minutes, 35.0 seconds. Senior Anna Cessar (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) took 43rd in 20:51.2, while junior Lydia Keiper (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) finished 46th (20:56.1).

Freshman Rachel Martin (Pittsburgh, Pa./Eden Christian) placed 56th (21:18.5) and senior Emily Townsend (Tucker, Ga./Killian Hill Christian) finished 63rd (21:28.3).

Seton Hill's Chelsia Poole won the individual race with a time of 18:46.3.

The Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships will be held October 31 at Saint Vincent. Grove City returns to action October 3 when the Wolverines compete in the Greater Louisville (Ky.) Classic.
