Grove City takes 6th in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Grove City College women's cross country team captured sixth place out of 17 teams in the Silver division of the Greater Louisville Classic, held Saturday afternoon at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park. The Wolverines finished the meet with 174 team points. Alabama State won the event with 68 points.

Senior Emily Rabenold (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) led Grove City by placing sixth overall with a time of 18 minutes, 52.19 seconds. Junior Lydia Keiper (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) came in 28th for the Wolverines with a time of 19:38.61.

Junior Kellen McGann (West Suffield, Conn./Suffield) earned 53rd (20:04.32) while senior Anna Cessar (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) took 58th with a time of 20:08.20. Freshman Rachel Martin (Pittsburgh, Pa./Eden Christian) placed 72nd in 20:18.55.

Concordia (Mich.) runner Stephanie Johnston won the individual race with a time of 18:39.66.

Grove City return to action October 17 at the Gettysburg Invitational.
