Wolverines finish 10th at Mideast Regional

NEWVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's cross country team concluded their 2015 season by finishing 10th out of 50 teams  with 335 points at the NCAA Division III Mideast Region Championships at Big Spring High School.

Sophomore Martha Mihm (Stone Ridge, N.Y./Rondout Valley) led the Wolverines by finishing 42nd individually in the 365-runner field with a time of 23 minutes, 17.2 seconds while senior Emily Rabenold (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) was second on the team and 56th overall in 23:34.1

Senior Stevie Huston (Greensburg, Pa./Latrobe) finished 61st and senior Anna Cessar (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) 80th with times of 23:39.7 and 24:00.8, respectively, while junior Kellen McGann (Suffield, Conn./Suffield) rounded out Grove City's scoring five with a 98th-place time of 24:12.9.

Junior Lydia Keiper (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) finished just behind McGann in 100th with a time of 24:15.1 while freshman Rachel Martin (Pittsburgh, Pa./Eden Christian) posted a 176th-place finish with a time of 25:41.8.

Johns Hopkins won the the team title with a mere 33 points while host Dickinson earned the region's second automatic bid to the DIII National Championships with 100 points. Sophia Meehan claimed the individual title with a time of 21:46.2 to lead a 1-2-3 finish for Johns Hopkins.

Today's race was the final career cross country race for Rabenold, Huston and Cessar.
