GCC Pulls Into Second At CMU



PITTSBURGH, PA, September 18, 1999--Charity Pefferman (New Martinsville, WV/Magnolia) broke the 20-minute barrier with a time of 19:57 to lead the Grove City College women's cross country team to a second-place finish at the four-team Carnegie Mellon University Invitational.

Pefferman placed fifth overall, while Morgan Kiper (Oxford, OH/Talawanda) took seventh in 20:09.  Angie Sabella (Tidioute, PA/Tidioute) finished 11th in 20:34.

The Lady Wolverines totaled 52 points, to close behind CMU, who won the meet with 28 points.  Case Western finished third with 54 points and Geneva placed last with 104 points.

Other top Lady Wolverine finishes in the field of 47 runners included: Sharon Caskey (Pittsburgh, PA/Mount Lebanon), 14th, 21:03; Jessica Davenport (State College, PA/State College), 15th, 21:05; Marnie Cambell (Woodinville, WA/Woodinville), 16th, 21:08; Sherri Noonan (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights), 18th, 21:28; and Allison Hertel (Brookfield, WI/Heritage Christian), 21st, 21:33.
