Grove City claims share of PAC title after all

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Originally, members of the Grove City College men's track and field team thought that the Wolverines' four-year run as Presidents' Athletic Conference champion was over as Thiel trimmed Grove City, 178-172, in the final team standings at Saturday afternoon's PAC Championships at Westminster College.

However, a re-examination of meet scoring indicated that Grove City had been shorted by six points. Meet officials recalculated the team scoring, which resulted in Grove City and Thiel being tied with 178 team points.

Thus, Grove City earns a share of the PAC title for the fifth consecutive year. Overall, it is Grove City's 12th conference title since 1986.

Westminster (166) took third while Washington and Jefferson (25) and Bethany (17) rounded out the field.
