HIRAM, OH, March 18, 2000--Kurt Kaufman tossed a no-hitter in seven complete innings as Hiram blanked Grove City, 6-0, Saturday in the first of two in Hiram, OH.  The Wolverines dropped the nightcap, 9-1, and fell to 0-3 on the season.

Kaufman surrendered just three walks in his no-hit gem, striking out 11 along the way.

Mike Kashurba (Latrobe, PA/Greater Latrobe) went 2-for-3 in the second game with a double and the Wolverines' first run scored of the season.  Adam Myers (Conneaut Lake, PA/Conneaut Lake) had a two-base hit, while Adam Booth (Hartville OH/Lake) and Jeff Conaway (Freeport, PA/Freeport) each added singles.

J.G. Louden (Morgantown, OH/University) went the distance in game one, allowing seven singles and four earned runs while striking out three.  Justin Magee (Grove City, PA/Grove City) took the loss in game two, surrendering 10 hits and six earned runs over four innings.  Ben Helms (Mead, WA/St. George) worked the final two innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on one hit and two walks.
