April 7, 1999--
Nate Kauffman (Cecil, PA/Canon-McMillan) went 3-for-3, driving in two runs, and Ron Jones (Butler, PA/Knoch) allowed just two runs over seven innings as the Wolverines beat Bethany 4-2 in the first of two games in Bethany, West Virginia.  The Bison rallied to take the nightcap, 8-3.

With the first game tied 2-2 in the top of the seventh, Adam Booth (North Canton, OH/Uniontown Lake) reached base on a bunt single and moved to second on an overthrow.   Eric Kephart (Osceola Mills, PA/Philipsburg-Osceola) doubled in the game-winner, and then Kauffman singled home Kephart.

Jones, who improved to 2-2, struck out four, walked one and allowed seven hits.

In the back end of the twin bill, Grove City couldn't recover from Bethany's five-run first, which included a grand slam by Scott DeUnger, his first of two homers in the game.   J.G. Louden (Morgantown, WV/University) had two hits in three at-bats for the Wolverines.  Mike Suchan (Independence, OH/Independence) took the loss, falling to 1-2.

The Wolverines moved to 10-6 overall, 7-5 in the PAC.  First-place Bethany moved to 8-10 overall, 6-2 in the PAC.
