Wolverines post 21-point win in Buffalo
BUFFALO, NY, January 10, 2001--Four Wolverines scored in double figures as Grove City improved to 8-5 overall with an 81-60 win at Medaille College in Buffalo, NY Wednesday night.
Junior Chris Kreider (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) fired in a game-high 20 points and added eight rebounds for the Wolverines, who led 36-21 at halftime. Junior Pat Roberts (Home, PA/Marion Center) posted 12 points and led all rebounders in the game with 14 boards. Sophomore Andy Vlajkovich (Canfield, OH/Canfield) recorded 11 points and six assists, while senior Shane Meling (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock) tossed in 10 points, including a pair of three-pointers. Freshman Jim Fetzner (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) hit 3 of 5 threes and finished with nine points and nine boards.
The Wolverines outshot the Mavericks, 51% to 33%, and owned a 45-32 rebounding edge.
Grove City will host Hilbert College from Hamburg, NY on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
