Moravian downs Grove City in finals
BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's basketball team made just four of 24 first-half shots from the field Sunday afternoon en route to a 70-38 loss to Moravian in the finals of Moravian's Greyhound Rock Classic at Johnston Hall.
It is Grove City's lowest offensive output since a 52-38 loss to Washington and Jefferson in 1990. That matches Grove City's lowest point total since the introduction of the shot clock.
Moravian (7-5) took advantage of Grove City's poor start, charging to a 42-12 lead by halftime. Freshman Bobby Glass (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock) led the Wolverines (5-8) with seven points.
Junior guard Mike Lukcic (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) earned All-Tournament honors. Lukcic scored six points in Sunday's game, one day after firing in 19 in a semifinal win over St. Mary's of Maryland.
Grove City will host longtime nemesis NAIA Geneva Wednesday night at the College Arena.
